Rachel by definition means "ewe" or "female sheep." I take great ownership in this, as I consider the symbolism it carries within my faith. While I am flawed, broken and a sinner - a spotted ewe - I am cherished in the eyes of my God, my Shepherd. For Christ says:
"I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me - just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep." John 10:14-15
What an honor to follow such a Shepherd, who laid down His life for me, so that He might overcome death, and in turn promises life to all who follow Him. Though this is not a blog meant to focus on my faith, my relationship with God remains ever present in all that I do.
Food is my obsession. So I'm on a quest to find healthier ways to enjoy it, without sacrificing flavor.
Creativity is my passion. A "Jack of all crafts, and master of none," I’m drawn to anything labeled "DIY." I'm constantly looking for the next creative challenge.
Purpose is my desire. With a longing to lead a meaningful life, and a heart for our suffering world, I need to find purpose in what I do.
